YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Allegheny College women's track and field team logged a fourth-place finish and took home one gold medal at the 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Championships on Thursday at Youngstown State University's Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).
In the team standings, the Gators finished where the conference's pre-championships coaches' poll predicted. Allegheny earned 75 points, edging fifth-place Hiram College by a single point. This year's championship went to Geneva College, as the Golden Tornadoes topped the 12-team league with 127 total points.
More than two-thirds of Allegheny's points were earned by the trio of
Evie Ellenberger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair),
Aubryanna Snyder (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell), and
Corinne Inkley (Randolph, N.Y./Randolph Central). Together, they collected 55 points with nine podium finishes and four medals in the sprinting and jumping events.
Ellenberger, already a two-time PAC champ as a member of the women's tennis team, added track and field gold to her impressive resume with an outstanding performance. The sophomore standout medaled in all three of her events, broke one of her own school records, and missed another record by fractions of a second. Her victory came in the long jump, where any of her four countable marks would have earned a medal. Her last attempt, however, vaulted her from first place in the PAC to 10th place in the nation. At 5.75 meters, Ellenberger not only broke her own team record but put herself in position to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Birmingham, Alabama.
In addition to her long jump title, Ellenberger was the runner-up in the triple jump at 10.54 meters and placed third in the 60-meter dash at 7.97 seconds. Her sprint time was a personal record and ranks as the second-fastest in school history, behind former national qualifier Mihaela Toader '23 (7.94 seconds). For her efforts, Ellenberger was named both the PAC Indoor MVP and Field Athlete of the Year.
Snyder was one spot behind Ellenberger in the 60-meter race at 8.14 seconds, and her preliminary time of 8.10 seconds set a new PR. The junior added a pair of fourth-place finishes in the long jump (5.03 meters) and the triple jump (10.16 meters). Snyder also ran the 200-meter dash and was clocked at 26.94 seconds, good enough for sixth.
Inkley earned points in the long jump and the pole vault. She was the runner-up to Ellenberger in the former with an indoor personal record of 5.23 meters. The junior also took fourth in her signature event, clearing 3.43 meters in the pole vault.
