UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's track and field team spent the last Friday before next week's conference championship meet at two different tune-up competitions.

Several Gators traveled to Penn State's Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track for the Penn State Tune-Up, while five student-athletes went to the University of Mount Union for the Mount Union Tune-Up. At both meets, the Blue and Gold earned personal records, including a few key marks to climb the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) indoor list.

Sophomore Evie Ellenberger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) turned in a remarkable PR in the 60-meter dash at 7.99 seconds, her first-ever sub-eight-second performance. She slashed 0.31 seconds off of her previous PR from last year's PAC Indoor Championships and 0.32 seconds off of her best time from this season. Ellenberger's time is also the second-best in the conference this year. She was also the runner-up in the long jump at 5.35 meters, placing ahead of three Division I athletes from West Virginia and Penn State.

First-year sprinter Mariah Helvy-Bruce (Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills) earned PRs in both the 60- and 200-meter races. She placed 20th in both events, but her time of 26.84 seconds in the 200-meter dash ranks fourth in the PAC.

In the shot put, junior Angelee Bawek (Goodyear, Ariz./Estrella Foothills) improved for the fourth consecutive week and established a new PR. Bawek finished in eighth place overall and was the second out of the D-III throwers at 11.75 meters. She added 10 centimeters to her mark from last year's PAC Indoor Championships and now ranks third in the conference.

At Mount Union, both Skye Kramer (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Moreland) and Hevin Harvard (Bridgeville, Pa./Chartiers Valley) PR'd in the 60-meter hurdles. Kramer and Harvard also placed fifth and seventh, respectively, in the 200-meter dash.
