YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Allegheny College track and field sent four throwers to participate in Youngstown State University's YSU Last Chance Invitational at the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS) on Friday evening.
Angelee Bawek (Goodyear, Ariz./Estrella Foothills),
Maggie Moore (Elmira, N.Y./Notre Dame),
Andre Anderson (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill), and
Cameron Sadler (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) represented the Gators in the shot put and weight throw, placing in three of the four events while facing mostly Division I and II opponents.
Bawek led the Gator quartet with a 24th-place finish in the women's shot put. Out of 60 total competitors, she was the second-best Division III thrower. The junior missed her personal record by one centimeter, reaching 11.64 meters on her first of three attempts. Moore placed 57th in the shot put at 8.34 meters and 52nd in the weight throw at 10.08 meters.
Anderson and Sadler both fouled out of the weight throw, but scored in the shot put. Anderson posted his second-best mark of the season at 12.94 meters and was the best D-III thrower in the event in 31st place. Sadler finished in 40th place at 11.75 meters.
