INDIANAPOLIS -- Allegheny College's assistant women's basketball coach,
Christina Davis, was one of 45 coaches invited to participate in the 2025 NCAA Basketball Coaches Academy.
The NCAA Basketball Coaches Academy runs from Wednesday, May 7, through Friday, May 9, at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis. The academy provides intercollegiate men's and women's basketball coaches an opportunity to expand their knowledge and insight into the world of intercollegiate basketball coaching.
Selected participants will be trained in a variety of areas that encourage effective coaching at the intercollegiate level, with a focus on the holistic well-being and development of the student-athlete. Topics will include effective communication with campus and community constituents, the importance of building a culture of excellence focused on the overall success of student-athletes, winning the head coaching interview, becoming a CEO of your program, and on-the-floor coaching strategies.
Davis, who completed her second season in Meadville this winter, has helped lead the women's basketball team to a 34-21 overall record with a 29-11 record against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponents. With Davis on the sidelines, the Gators earned the No. 2 seed in the PAC this season before going on to win the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship in March.Â
