Celebrating Division III Week

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- It's Division III Week!

Allegheny College and the Department of Athletics proudly celebrate Division III Week, a positive opportunity to observe and celebrate the impact athletics and student-athletes have on campus and in the surrounding community.

The 14th annual Division III Week runs from Monday, April 7, through Sunday, April 13.

The event is part of Division III's Identity Initiative, introduced in 2010 to sharpen the division's identity and enable schools, conferences, and student-athletes to consistently explain why they prefer to compete in Division III. The initiative is guided by a strategic-positioning platform, describing Division III as a place where student-athletes can "follow your passions and develop your potential" through an approach that combines rigorous academics, competitive athletics, and an opportunity to pursue other interests.
 

The Gators will be celebrating Division III Week with the following events sponsored by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and home contests:

Monday, April 7
  • Lawn Games in the Campus Center Lobby from 3-5 p.m.
Tuesday, April 8
  • Men's Tennis vs. Geneva (Senior Day) at 5 p.m. (moved to Wise Center blue courts)
  • Soda Bar in the Campus Center Lobby from 6:30-8 p.m.
Wednesday, April 9
  • Grounds for Change open tab from noon to 1:30 p.m.
  • Softball vs. Franciscan (DH) at 3:30 p.m. (Faculty Appreciation Day)
Thursday, April 10
  • Baseball vs. Kenyon at 4:00 p.m.
  • Men's Tennis vs. Saint Vincent at 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, April 12
  • Women's Tennis vs. Carnegie Mellon at 9 a.m.
  • Men's Lacrosse vs. Thiel at noon (Senior Day)
  • Softball vs. Geneva (DH) at 1 p.m. (Senior Day)
  • Women's Tennis vs. Grove City at 3 p.m.
  • Women's Lacrosse vs. Thiel at 3 p.m.
