PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Allegheny College senior
Anthony DeMarco (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Specialist of the Week after a strong performance at the faceoff dot against SUNY Brockport.
DeMarco logged his best performance of the season against the Golden Eagles. The fourth-year faceoff man won 14-of-19 draws for a win rate of 73.7%. His 14 wins and 11 ground balls were both season-bests.
In addition to his efforts on faceoffs, DeMarco contributed offensively with his second goal in as many games. He needed only seven seconds to win a faceoff and race down the field to score Allegheny's first goal in the third quarter.
In his last two games combined, DeMarco has won 26-of-38 faceoffs (68.4%) with 19 ground balls and three points (2g-1a). He also surpassed 200 career ground balls during Saturday's matchup against Brockport.
Allegheny will hit the road on Wednesday, March 19, for their next game against the University of Mount Union. The non-conference contest is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
