Bouthet Named All-America Honorable Mention By USILA

USILA Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --
For the first time in the program's five-year history, a member of the Allegheny College men's lacrosse team received All-America honors.

On Friday, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) tabbed Allegheny College defenseman Cassady Bouthet (Vernon, Conn./Rockville) an All-America Honorable Mention. It's a watershed moment for the Gators, one of many firsts accomplished in 2024.

The first-ever player to earn a major conference award, Bouthet adds his All-America accomplishment to his 2024 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Year trophy. The standout close defenseman was also named to the All-PAC First Team, his third all-conference accolade between the PAC and North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC).

This season, Bouthet was the anchor for a defensive unit that ranked ninth in Division III in ground balls per game (43.18), 14th in opponent clear percentage (71.8%), and 16th in caused turnovers per game (12.71). Individually, he was 12th nationally and first in the PAC with 3.12 caused turnovers per game. In 17 games, Bouthet caused 53 turnovers and picked up 96 ground balls. He also contributed two goals and one assist on the offensive end of the field.

Over his four seasons with the Gators, Bouthet started 55 of 56 games played. He graduated as the team's all-time leader in ground balls (246) and caused turnovers (122).

Allegheny finished the 2024 campaign with a program-record 10 wins, including its first-ever postseason victory in the PAC Championship Tournament semifinals.
