TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Lauren Petrarca (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Midfielder of the Week after leading the Allegheny College women's lacrosse team to a pair of commanding victories last week.
Petrarca helped the Gators dismantle Waynesburg University, 19-1, and Franciscan University, 21-5, as Allegheny locked up the second seed in the upcoming PAC Championship Tournament.
In two games, Petrarca amassed nine points (5g-4a) with eight ground balls, eight caused turnovers, and four draw controls. She also helped the Gator midfield clear the ball at a rate of 83.3% (25-of-30), while limiting opponents to a mere 28.8% (15-of-52). Against the Yellow Jackets, the third-year midfielder had four points (2g-2a) with four ground balls, two draws, and two caused turnovers. She added five points (3g-2a) with six caused turnovers, four ground balls, and two draw controls against the Barons.
Petrarca and the Gators will be home for the semifinal round of the 2024 PAC Championship Tournament on Thursday, May 2, at 7:00 p.m. on the blue turf at the Robertson Athletic Complex.
