Gator Give Day 2024 Website
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Mark your calendar: Gator Give Day is less than a month away.
Allegheny College will celebrate its 10th Annual Gator Give Day, the College's traditional day of giving, on Thursday, April 18. It's an opportunity for alumni, friends, family, and other members of the Allegheny community to come together to help pave the way for future students to explore paths, discover callings, and write their own stories.
Last spring, Allegheny surpassed its fundraising goals with 3,171 donors and more than $2.38 million raised. This year represents the biggest challenge and greatest opportunity yet.
For Gator Give Day 2024, the College has set a goal of 3,172 donors - one more than last year. By reaching this record-breaking goal, the Allegheny community can unlock a $1 million challenge gift. Additionally, the Board of Trustees will match all new Timothy Alden Council leadership-level commitments of $1,815+ with a gift to the Annual Fund, up to half a million dollars.
Specifically for Gator sports teams and student-athletes, Kevin '84 and Lisa '84 Baird are once again prizes for the top performers in athletics. However, the Baird Prizes have increased to $20,000 total for the 10th Annual Gator Give Day. Each varsity program has goals for alumni donations, overall donations, and funds raised. The team that meets or exceeds its alumni giving goal the most will be eligible for the top prize of $10,000.
More matching challenges have been offered for the following sports:
- John '78 and Jamie Sansone '79 Sutphen are giving $250 for each alum who donates to women's basketball, up to an additional $10,000 for the program.
- Dale '72 and Elizabeth Hahn are matching donations to baseball dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000.
- Head Field Hockey Coach Lauren Thomas is giving $50 for each alum who donates to field hockey, up to an additional $500 for the program.
