NEW CASTLE, Pa. --
For the second time in three seasons since joining the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), the Allegheny College women's cross country team has won the conference championship.

The Allegheny women captured the 2024 PAC title with a strong showing in the six-kilometer race at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds. The Gators, who entered the weekend ranked No. 6 in the Great Lakes Region, finished with a 19-point lead over second-place Grove City College. The Blue and Gold received 45 points, followed by the Wolverines with 64 and Saint Vincent College in third with 75.

Three Gators placed inside the top 10, the most of any team, and six earned All-PAC honors for finishing among the top 21. No other team had more than four in the top 21.

The team's fastest runner all season, Chloe Bonson (Penn Township, Pa./Penn-Trafford), once again led the way. The junior was fourth and crossed the finish line with a time of 22:37.8. She finished less than four seconds ahead of teammate Marrin Crist (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area), who came in fifth at 22:41.6. Nelly Stafford (Middletown, Md./Middletown) clocked in at 22:56.6 and joined Bonson and Crist on the All-PAC First Team with a seventh-place effort.

Senior Celia Cocca (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) was an All-PAC Second Team selection after coming in 12th place. In 17th and 20th, respectively, senior Mazzie Standish (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) and sophomore Shyann Rulander (Warren, Pa./Warren) were both All-PAC Honorable Mentions.

Ben Mourer '07 collected addition hardware for the Gators, as the Allegheny alumnus was crowned the PAC Coach of the Year.

Lydia Bennett from Grove City took home the individual championship after completing the 6K course in 21:54.3. Claire Anderson of Washington and Jefferson College was the only other runner to log a sub-22-minute time at 21:58.7.
