BEREA, Ohio -- Seeking a ticket to the NCAA Division III National Championships, Allegheny College's
Mihaela Toader (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) climbed back into the conversation with her latest record-setting race at Baldwin Wallace University's Harrison Dillard Twilight on Friday evening.
The senior sprinter, who has already re-written multiple records this season, did it again in the 400-meter dash. Toader placed sixth out of 22 runners with a time of 56.14 seconds, 71-hundredths of a second faster than her previous personal record and 78-hundredths of a second better than her winning time at yesterday's Marty Goldberg Gator Invitational. The time is enough to move Toader from 26th in Division III to 13th in the nation.
The multiple-time Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) champion also ran the 200-meter dash. After logging a PR of 24.82 seconds at Allegheny's home meet on Thursday, Toader was clocked at 24.85 seconds at Baldwin Wallace. She finished fourth in a field of 18 in the 200m.
