MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Allegheny College senior Daniel Morgano (Allison Park, Pa./Vincentian Academy) was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week after making a trio of appearances out of the bullpen for the Gators last week.

Morgano finished three of Allegheny's four wins and did not allow a hit or walk in 2.1 shutout innings. The righty collected strikeouts in five of the seven outs he recorded.

In a 7-0 win over Geneva College, Morgano pitched a 1-2-3 ninth with two strikeouts. He then saved a 3-2 victory over Waynesburg University in the first half of their doubleheader on Friday. With two one and two out in the top of the ninth, Morgano entered in the middle of an at-bat and struck out the final batter on three pitches. In the nightcap against the Yellow Jackets, the fourth-year hurler retired the side in order to conclude an 11-6 triumph.

In 2023, Morgano has made 11 appearances with five starts. He's struck out 30 in 28.2 innings, and leads all Gators with two saves.
