Baseball Falls in Elimination Game to Washington and Jefferson

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The third-seed Allegheny baseball team fell in an elimination game at the 2025 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament to top-seed and host Washington and Jefferson, 14-1, Friday (May 9).
 
The Presidents jumped out to a 7-0 lead after three innings. The Gators threatened in the bottom of the third. Nick Banez (Edmonds, Wash./Meadowdale) hit a one-out single to left field. Matt Jennings (Birmingham, Mich./Brother Rice) was hit by a pitch later in the inning with two outs to put two runners on. However, the Presidents got out of the inning without allowing a run.
 
Washington Jefferson grew their lead to 14-0 entering the bottom of the ninth.
 
Jennings got the inning started with an infield single. Gavin White (Espyville, Pa./Conneaut Area) pinch ran for him. Later in the inning with two outs, Tyson Bryant-Dawson (Oakland, Calif./Manvel (Texas)) reached on an error, putting runners on the corners. JD Robinson (Round Hill, Va./Woodgrove) followed up with a RBI single up the middle, putting the Gators on the board. However, the Presidents recorded the final out as the Gators fell in the elimination game.

  • Tyler Skaggs (Champion Heights, Ohio/Champion) and Banez also had singles.
  • White scored a run.
  • Noah Philson (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) pitched one inning of hitless ball.
  • Ashton Reidy (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Brother Rice) struck out a pair of batters in 1.2 innings of work. 
News and Notes
  • The Gators finished the year with a 22-18 overall record, their fourth straight 20 plus win season.
  • Bryant-Dawson concluded his Gator career second in stolen bases (84), third in hits (198), third in runs scored (157), fourth in RBI (149), and fifth in at-bats (560) in program history.
