MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Gator Give Day 2023 is one month away!

Thursday, April 20, marks the ninth annual Gator Give Day, Allegheny College's traditional day of giving. It's an opportunity for alumni, friends, family, and other members of the Allegheny community to come together to help pave the way for future students to explore paths, discover callings, and write their own stories.

The Department of Athletics and the varsity sports teams have pledged their support to help the College reach its boldest goal yet.

For Gator Give Day 2023, Allegheny College has set a target for 3,000 donors, a 15% increase from the previous record. By reaching this historic goal, the College has a chance to unlock an incredible $1 million in challenge prizes, thanks to an extraordinary commitment made by an anonymous member of the Allegheny community. In response, the Board of Trustees has added a quarter of a million dollars for a total challenge match of $1.25 million to support the College's greatest need.

This is bigger than any challenge offered in Gator Give Day history.

Specifically for Gator sports teams and student-athletes, Kevin '84 and Lisa '84 Baird are offering $15,000 in prizes for the top performers in athletics. Each varsity program has set goals for alumni and overall donations, as well as funds raised. The team that meets or exceeds its alumni giving goal the most will be eligible for the top prize of $7,000.

Additional match challenges are being provided by supporters of the baseball, men's basketball, golf, and tennis teams.

Last spring, the Department of Athletics shattered its previous records for total donations and funds raised. With your support, the Gators can raise the bar to new heights again this year and help the College reach its record-breaking goals.
