KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Three members of the Allegheny College men's tennis team spent the weekend competing at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Central Regional Championships, hosted by Kalamazoo College.

All three Gators - Anton Hedlund (Hovas, Sweden/Katrinelundsgymnasiet), David Rodriguez (St. Ann's, Trinidad and Tobago/Fatima College), and Will Jarvie (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) - won at least one singles match. Although Jarvie fell in his first-round matchup in the main singles draw, he won twice on Saturday to reach the consolation quarterfinals. Jarvie's quarterfinal match against Adrian College's Kasper Olofsson came down to a 10-point tiebreaker, which Olofsson narrowly won 10-8.

As a tandem, Hedlund and Rodriguez played three doubles matches. In the consolation bracket, they earned an 8-5 victory over Kalamazoo's Alex Fleming and Lucas Preston. In their next match, they fell 8-4 to Case Western Reserve University's Casey Hishinuma and Michael Sutanto, who went on to reach the consolation finals.
