WOOSTER, Ohio -- The Allegheny College women's track and field team received several noteworthy performances at the College of Wooster's Fighting Scots Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by a pair of first-place finishes.

Mihaela Toader (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon), Allegheny's senior sprinter, and Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy), the second-year thrower, either won or set new personal records in each of their events in the team's first meet since the extended holiday break.

On the track, Toader (26.47 seconds) won the 200-meter dash by nearly a second over Denison University's Caliyah Bennett (27.40 seconds). As the runner-up in the 60-meter dash (8.14 seconds), she shaved one-hundredth of a second of her time from her last race of 2022 at Bowling Green State University's Tom Wright Open.

In the throws, Miller logged two PRs. Not only was she first in the shot put at 12.14 meters, but she also added five-hundredths of a meter to her distance from the season-opening YSU Icebreaker. The sophomore standout made even bigger strides in the weight throw, as her 12.55-meter toss was nearly nine-tenths further than her mark from the 2022 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Indoor Championships.

Lydia Giannini (Warren, Pa./Eisenhower) did not PR in either throw, but the senior was the runner-up behind Miller in the shot put (11.23 meters) and notched Allegheny's best weight throw at 13.96 meters.

Despite participating in just half of the 16 total events, the Gators were fourth in the team standings with 77 total points.
