MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny College Athletics Department is proud to present its new branding.
As Allegheny is set to rejoin the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) this fall, the Gators will have a brand new look for the new era. The new logos were developed by Allegheny's Assistant Director of Art and Publications Brian Martone.
Â
"This new branding comes at a particularly exciting time for Gator Athletics," remarked
Bill Ross, Director of Athletics and Recreation. "As of July 1, we will officially be returning to compete in the PAC, in which Allegheny was previously a member from 1958 to 1984."
Â
Key elements of the new brand identity include:Â
- A Gator Mascot Logo that conveys Allegheny's tradition of athletic excellence and competitive spirit through a bold, fierce look.Â
- An Action A Logo that deftly incorporates an alligator tail for a memorable, striking take on a familiar element of Allegheny's athletic brand identity.Â
- Crisp, impactful typography throughout the designs, communicating forward momentum, excitement, and energy.
- A set of Gator Eyes that evokes the presence of an alligator lurking in the water.
"Brian [Martone] served as the lead designer and the creative force behind the process," continued Ross. "He invested countless hours and tremendous insight in the research, concept and design of this project."
The new branding will roll out in phases, as it will be a part of new uniforms, facility designs, social media and more. Merchandise featuring the new branding will be available at the Allegheny bookstore and online.
