MANSFIELD, Ohio – The Allegheny men's golf team competed at the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships hosted at Westbrook Country Club April 29-May 1.
The Gators finished fourth of nine teams with a team score of 931. Kenyon won the team title with a three-day score of 897.
Carter Hassenplug (North East, Pa./North East) led the Gators as he finished third, earning First Team All-NCAC honors. Hassenplug shot a 77 in the opening round before dropping down to a 70 in round two. He closed out the event with a round of 78 for a total score of 225.
Zachary Melzar (Sterling, Mass./Wachussett Regional) was second for Allegheny as he tied for 13th with a score of 234. That score earned him an All-NCAC Honorable Mention laurel.
Bergas Anargya (Jakarta, Indonesia/Binus School Simprug) tied for 18th with a tally of 237, while
Ryan Dayton (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) took 21st with a 239.
Shane Kelley (Glenshaw, Pa./Central Catholic) rounded out the Gator lineup in a tie for 28th with a score of 246.
