Napoleon Highlights Men's Soccer's Four All-PAC Recipients

PAC Release

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. --
The Allegheny College men's soccer team received four 2022 All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) awards on Friday, highlighted by All-PAC First-Team recognition for defenseman Brady Napoleon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon).

In addition to Napoleon, the Gators placed Henry Rosenberg (Pittsburgh, Pa./Allderdice) on the All-PAC Second Team, while Gabe Anthony (Tarentum, Pa./Highlands) and Matthew Taliani (Cheswick, Pa./Springdale) were Honorable Mentions.

Napoleon logged career-highs across the board in points (16), goals (6), assists (4), and game-winning goals (3) while playing all 17 games for the Gators, who qualified for the 2022 PAC Championship Tournament as the No. 4 seed this fall. He was tied for first on the team and sixth in the conference for points, and he tied for second in the PAC in game-winning goals. His best performance came on September 24 against Westminster College, when the 6-foot-3 back turned in a hat trick in a 4-2 win over the Titans.

Rosenberg also recorded career highs in nearly every statistical category with four goals and one assist for nine points. The third-year forward had a season-high three points (1g-1a) in a 6-1 win over La Roche University on September 14 and helped Allegheny earn much-needed points for its postseason push with goals against Franciscan University and Thiel College in the last two games of the regular season.

Anthony collected All-PAC Honorable Mention accolades in his first season as Allegheny's starting goalkeeper. He finished second in the conference in saves (86) and led all PAC keepers with 6.14 saves per game. The 6-foot-5 junior had three shutouts against league opponents, including a 3-0 victory over Thiel in the regular-season finale to help the Gators punch their ticket to the PAC Tournament.

One of only two players to start all 17 games this fall, Taliani helped anchor Allegheny's defense all season. The third-year back from Cheswick, Pennsylvania, logged a career-high 1,391 minutes on the pitch yet was only carded once all season.

A 2021 All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Honorable Mention, Allegheny senior Shane Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars) was included on the PAC Sportsmanship Team. The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior, and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams and student-athletes.
