Sophomore Paul Vojtek pitched two innings of scoreless relief for the Gators.
Box Score AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Babson starting pitcher Michael Bortolotti pitched a complete-game four-hitter, leading the Beavers to a 4-1 win over Allegheny in the Gators' final spring training game on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Zack Sutton led the Gators with two hits as fellow first years Ben Kirchler and Joe Killian each recorded a hit.  Sophomore Zach Gray tallied a sacrifice fly RBI.

Allegheny starting pitcher Brandon Ellis pitched six innings, surrendering six hits and three earned runs while striking out three.  Sophomore Paul Vojtek pitched two innings of scoreless relief, allowing two hits.

The Gators picked up their first hit of the game in the second inning after a single down the left field line by Killian.   Two Gators flied out to end the threat.  Bortolotti then retired 10 straight Allegheny batters while the Babson offense scored a run in the second, third and fourth inning to take a 3-0 lead.

In the fifth, the Gators let another opportunity slip away after a single up the left side by Sutton and a walk to senior Frank Triozzi placed runners on first and second.  Another two-out fly ball ended the inning.

Kirchler hit a rocket single down the first base line to lead off the sixth, stealing second during the next at-bat and advancing to third after a ground ball by senior Jeff Dassner.  Gray brought Kirchler home with a deep fly ball to left, putting the Gators on the board.  Babson picked up another run in the bottom of the frame to build the lead back to three.

Trailing 4-1, the Gators managed a hit in the seventh inning but were unable to score and cut into the Babson lead. Bortolotti retired the final eight Allegheny batters to clinch the win.

Allegheny will return to the Robertson Complex on Wed., Mar. 27 against Thiel before hosting Keuka for a double-header on Sat. Mar. 30.
