Cochran, Miner Bring Home PAC Weekly Honors

TRAFFORD, Pa. – Ryan Cochran (Pittsburgh, Pa./Deer Lakes) and Zach Miner (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) of the Allegheny baseball team earned weekly honors from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) after helping the Gators go 3-0 in their final week of the regular season.
 
Cochran earned his fourth Hitter of the Week honor while Miner earned his third Newcomer of the Week honor.
 
In three games at the plate last week, Cochran went six-of-13 at the plate with three home runs and 10 RBI. In a non-conference game at Penn State Behrend, Cochran went four-for-six with a double, a home run and a pair of RBI. The Gators finished the regular season with a PAC doubleheader sweep at Geneva. In the first game, Cochran had a pair of sacrifice flies. In game two, he homered twice and had a sacrifice fly as part of a six RBI contest.
 
At the plate in two games last week, Miner went six-for-11, driving in six runs. He had a season-high four hits at Penn State Behrend with three RBI. In game two at Geneva, Miner had two hits, including a double, while driving in a run. On the mound, Miner picked up the save at Penn State Behrend, recording the final out. He got the start at Geneva in game one, picking up the win after allowing just two earned runs on one hit in 5.0 innings.
 
The Gators will be the third seed in the upcoming PAC Championship Tournament, held at Washington and Jefferson. They open up play Wednesday (May 6) against fourth-seed Bethany.
