TRAFFORD, Pa. – Adriana Navarro (Tegucigalpa, Honduras/DelCampo School) and
Claire Terefe (Dallas, Texas/Texas Online Preparatory School) of the Allegheny women's tennis team earned weekly honors from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).
Navarro was named the Player of the Week while Terefe was named as the Newcomer of the Week.
Navarro went 6-0 during the two-day Allegheny Invitational this past weekend, winning three singles and three doubles matches. Navarro did not surrender more than four games in any of her singles matches, collecting wins against players from Baldwin Wallace, Juniata and Washington and Jefferson. She also picked up doubles wins against pairs from Juniata and Baldwin Wallace.
Terefe also went 6-0 in her first collegiate matches. In singles action, Terefe picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win against a player from Division II Tiffin, as well as wins against a pair of players from Washington and Jefferson. In doubles action, Terefe added two wins against Baldwin Wallace as well as one against Case Western Reserve.
