MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny volleyball team hosted Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Hiram Wednesday (Sept. 30), falling in straight sets to the Terriers.
The Terriers won the sets 25-20, 25-18, 25-18.
The teams went back-and-forth to start the match. Knotted at 14, the Terriers went on a 3-0 run, leading to an Allegheny timeout. Following the timeout, the Terriers lead reached as much as seven before they won the set 25-20.
Hiram used momentum from late in the first set to take a 10-4 lead early in the second. The Gators slowly chipped away at the deficit, pulling with two points, 18-16. However, the Terriers responded with a 3-0 run, eventually taking the set 25-18.
The third set started off like the opening one with the teams going back-and-forth before the Terriers went on a 6-0 run to take a 13-7 lead. The Gators kept it close, but were unable to overcome that run as they fell 25-18 in the final set.
Inside the Box
- Skyler Fatola (Queen Creek, Ariz./Eastmark) led the team with six kills.
- Carlee Pepperman (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte Area) had five kills and six digs.
- Joanna Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa./Gateway) tallied 12 assists to go with five digs.
- Kendall Brunn (Campbell, Ohio/Northeast Ohio Impact Academy) and Carly Beers (Warren, Pa./Warren) combined to block four attacks.
- Ande Northrup (Ellicottville, N.Y./Ellicottville Central) had a team-high seven digs.
- Bella Johnson (Waterford, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) added six digs while Marissa Rish (Burton, Ohio/Berkshire) had five.

- Allegheny is now 12-28 all-time against Hiram.
