HIRAM, Ohio -- The Allegheny College men's soccer team rallied from an early two-goal deficit and earned a 2-2 draw at Hiram College on Wednesday night.
The Terriers (3-1-5, 2-1-2 PAC) struck first, heading in a corner kick in the third minute. They added to their lead in the 15th minute on a short-range goal.
The Gators (3-6-1, 1-2-1 PAC), however, began their comeback a little more than four minutes later. In the 19th minute,
Jose Cifuentes (Guatemala City, Guatemala/The Kiski School (Pa.)) won a ball at midfield and passed it along to
Miguel Narbona (Cádiz, Spain/Broughton (N.C.)). After dribbling through the defense, Narbona crossed it to
Cole Bowser (Forest Hill, Md./John Carroll). Bowser had a tough angle from the far side, but his shot rocketed under the crossbar.
Bowser also made a great play to feed the ball to
Arthur Every (Cranleigh, United Kingdom/Glebelands Secondary) for the tying mark in the 53rd minute. Right back
Braeden Knight (Washington, Pa./Trinity Area) booted the ball upfield from the back line, and it took a few bounces into the 18-yard box on the opposite end of the field. A Hiram defender tried to box out Bowser to let his keeper recover the ball, but Bowser fought through the defender and was able to center it to a wide-open Every. With the goalie well out of position, Every just tapped the ball across the goal line for the easy score.
