MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's tennis team picked up a 7-0 shutout victory over Westminster College under the lights at the Robertson Athletic Complex on Monday evening.
The Gators (2-0, 2-0 PAC) celebrated Senior Day with their second consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win. Seniors
Emiliia Grydnieva (Kyiv, Ukraine/Optima) and
Jillian Clark (Butler, Pa./Butler) contributed during the doubles portion of the match. Grydnieva and partner
Gabrielle Bassette (Miami, Fla./Miami Country Day School) defeated Westminster's (2-4, 2-3 PAC) No. 2 doubles team, 6-3, while Clark and
Chanel Brun (Aix-en-Provence, France/Fox Chapel (Pa.)) blanked their opponents in the third match.
In singles, five of six Gators posted at least one shutout set.
Adriana Navarro (Tegucigalpa, Honduras/DelCampo School) swept Myleigh Broll in the sixth singles contest, 6-0, 6-0. Bassette and
Jade Flores (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) each won 12 of 13 games played against the Titans out of the first and fifth positions, respectively.
