WOOSTER, Ohio – The Allegheny field hockey moved to 3-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play as they defeated Wooster 3-0 on the road Wednesday (Sept. 23).
The Gators got on the board late in the first quarter. On a penalty corner,
Rhyan Rish's (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) shot got deflected in front by
Teagan Ressler (Glenwood, N.J./Vernon Township) into the back of the net. The goal marked her seventh of the year.
Allegheny did not surrender a shot in the opening 30 minutes as they led 1-0 at the half.
Bryce Watford (Parkville, Md./Eastern Technical) added to the lead after earning a penalty stroke early in the third. Watford's shot beat the goalkeeper to the lower far post, increasing their lead to 2-0. The goal was her fourth of the year.
Late in the third, the Gators scored their third goal. Once again off a corner, Watford found
Megan Seymour (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) near the post. Similar to the opening goal, Seymour deflected the ball in the net, making it 3-0. The goal was Seymour's first of the season.
The Gator defense allowed just four total shots, none of which were on goal, as they won their third straight NCAC contest.
