MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's tennis team opened Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play strong with a 6-1 victory over Geneva College on Wednesday evening.
The Gators' winning streak against Geneva was kept alive due in part to a dominant performance in both singles and doubles. In singles, despite dropping the No. 1 match, Allegheny (1-0, 1-0 PAC) rallied to win the remaining matches, featuring second-set shutouts from
Jade Flores (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) and
Adriana Navarro (Tegucigalpa, Honduras/DelCampo School).
Doubles showed the same dominance, giving up only a combined two points among all doubles matches with
Giada Palmieri (Berlin, Germany/Paulsen Gymnasium) and
Chanel Brun (Aix-en-Provence, France/Fox Chapel (Pa.)) shutting out their Geneva (0-3, 0-2 PAC) counterparts.
