MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Following a monster week at the plate, Allegheny College sophomore
Ryan Cochran (Pittsburgh, Pa./Deer Lakes) was included on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.
Cochran powered the Gators to a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) sweeps against Bethany College and Franciscan University. The PAC Player of the Week, Cochran slashed .556/.609/1.611 with six home runs, 10 runs scored, and 14 RBIs. He logged multiple hits and multiple RBIs in all four games, while leaving the yard in three straight games.
The second-year outfielder from Pittsburgh went 2-for-4 in both halves of the conference series at Bethany, which included a two-run homer in the nightcap. On Saturday at Franciscan, Cochran slugged three home runs, one shy of the program single-game record, with four runs and five RBIs. In the series finale on Sunday at Robert M. Garbark '32 Field, he belted two more homers, a solo shot and a three-run dinger.
On the season, Cochran is hitting .440 with a team-high 11 home runs, 42 runs scored, and 33 RBIs. He enters Wednesday's PAC doubleheader against Saint Vincent College with nine consecutive multi-hit games.
Cochran and the Gators will host the Bearcats in a twin bill at Garbark Field this afternoon beginning at 1 p.m.
