Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Westminster on Senior Day

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny women's lacrosse team hosted Westminster on Senior Day Saturday (April 18) as the Gators fell in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play 19-3. 
 
Before the game, the team honored their four graduating members: Kendall Cox (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein), Amelia Henderson (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny), Sarah Santicola (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) and Olivia Savage (Meadville, Pa./Meadville Area).
 
The Titans jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Caroline Smith (Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty) got the Gators on the board on a free position opportunity. Aubrey Carion (Pittsburgh, Pa./Kiski Area) followed up with a quick, unassisted goal as they cut the deficit to three goals heading into the second.
 
Westminster added eight goals in the second while keeping the Gators off the board as they led 13-2 at the halftime break.
 
In the second half, Westminster outscored the Gators 6-1, with Carion tallying her second goal of the game.
 
Inside the Box
  • Carion had two goals and two draw controls.
  • Smith had a goal, three draw controls, three groundballs and two caused turnovers.
  • Santicola had three groundballs. 
  • Erin Lowthert (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) had six draw controls.
  • Duchess Jackson (Washington, D.C/National Cathedral School) caused two turnovers.
  • Ella Ashton (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) and Emma Foley (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) split time in goal. Ashton played the opening half, making seven saves. Foley made four saves in the second half.

  • Allegheny is now 2-2 all-time against Westminster.
