MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The No. 65 nationally-ranked Allegheny College men's tennis team extended its win streak to nine consecutive matches by capturing both halves on Saturday's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader at the Robertson Athletic Complex.

The Gators (14-7, 7-0 PAC) hosted both Thiel College (0-10, 0-7 PAC) and Grove City College (6-4, 5-1 PAC) on Saturday and swept both opponents with back-to-back 7-0 victories.

Allegheny celebrated Senior Day before the matinee match against the Tomcats. The Gators faced a shorthanded lineup, as Thiel forfeited the No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles matches. It was an opportunity for the Blue and Gold to utilize a different lineup, as junior Javier Bejarano Jimenez (El Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain/IES Padre Luis Coloma) jumped to the top of the lineup and junior Reid Stasolla (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) filled in at No. 2.

The traditional lineup returned for the afternoon contest and handed the Wolverines their first conference loss of the spring. As a result, the Gators clinched the top seed in the upcoming PAC Championship Tournament. Freshman Adam Memije (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) defeated Grove City's Allen Morris by a 6-2, 6-1 score in the No. 1 bout. Sophomore Levente Mihaly (Békéscsaba, Hungary/Békéscsabai SZC Széchenyi István) defeated Kiser Swain in consecutive sets, 6-3, 6-2. Senior David Rodriguez (St. Ann's, Trinidad & Tobago/Fatima College) dropped the fewest games on the team during the singles portion of the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Isaac DeMan.
