Men’s Lacrosse Travels to Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Allegheny men's lacrosse team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) road contest at six-time defending conference champion Grove City Wednesday (April 1), falling to the Wolverines 16-3.

The Wolverines got out to a quick lead, scoring seven goals in the first quarter. The Gators held Grove City off the board for most of the second quarter, but the Wolverines tacked on a goal in the waning seconds of the half.

Grove City added five goals in the third before the Gators got on the board. Tomi Horsley (Salt Lake City, Utah/Brighton) found the back of the net for Allegheny off of an assist by Nathan Wheeler (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake).

The Gators scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter. Jack Pearl (Ladera Ranch, Calif./JSerra Catholic) started the frame with an unassisted goal before JP Rakis (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson) assisted Griffin Cates (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey) for the second. However, the Wolverines added three more tallies in the quarter as the Gators fell on the road.
