Women’s Lacrosse Travels to Buffalo State

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Allegheny women's lacrosse team traveled north to face Buffalo State Wednesday (March 18), falling to the Bengals 16-2.
 
The Bengals scored five goals in each of the first two quarters as they led 10-0 at the half.
 
The Gators got on the board first in the second half. Aubrey Carion (Pittsburgh, Pa./Kiski Area) scored just 30 seconds into the third on an unassisted strike. However, Buffalo State added two goals in the 15 minutes to increase their lead to 12-1.
 
Similar to the third quarter, the Gators struck first again in the fourth. This time, Kendall Cox (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) scored unassisted after wrapping around the crease. Buffalo State would hold the Gators off the board the rest of the way while producing four more goals as Allegheny dropped the non-conference road game.
 
Inside the Box
  • Carion scored a goal and grabbed three groundballs.
  • Cox scored the other Allegheny goal.
  • Duchess Jackson (Washington, D.C/National Cathedral School) led the team with seven groundballs while causing four turnovers.
  • Erin Lowthert (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) had three draw controls and two groundballs with one caused turnover.
  • Sarah Santicola (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) and Nadya Shenk (Orbisonia, Pa./Southern Huntingdon County) had two groundballs each.
  •  Ella Ashton (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) made a career-high 12 saves.

  • Allegheny is now 13-11 all-time against the Bengals.
  • Ashton made a career-high 12 saves.
