Women's Tennis Upended By Dickinson, 6-1

PITTSBURGH -- After an undefeated fall, the Allegheny College women's tennis team suffered its first dual loss the 2025-26 season in its spring opener against Dickinson College on Saturday evening.

The Gators (12-1) dropped a 6-1 decision to the Red Devils (4-2) in a neutral-site match at Alpha Tennis and Fitness in Pittsburgh. The difference maker proved to be the three singles matches that required a 10-point super tiebreaker. All three tiebreakers went to the Red Devils, but two were narrowly decided by 10-8 scores.

Allegheny earned wins in the No. 2 doubles and No. 1 singles matches. In doubles action, Adriana Navarro (Distrito Central, Honduras/DelCampo School) teamed up with Giada Palmieri (Berlin, Germany/ Paulsen Gymnasium) for a 6-4 triumph. First-year Gabrielle Bassette (Miami, Fla. Miami/Country Day School) then earned the team's only point on the scoreboard with a 6-1, 6-3 straight-set victory over Dickinson senior Alisa Steele.
