GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny women's tennis team collected a 9-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory at Thiel Wednesday (Sept. 17).
The Gators started the contest with three wins at doubles.
Rei Etsumi (Honolulu, Hawaii/President William McKinley) and
Giada Palmieri (Berlin, Germany/Paulsen Gymnasium) were up 5-0 at first doubles before the match ended with a Thiel retirement.
Evie Ellenberger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and
Anabel Bachman (Rogers, Ark./Bentonville) teamed up at second doubles for a 6-0 sweep while
Grace Musser (Gilbertsville, Pa./Perkiomen School) and
Madison McDunn (Warren, Pa./Warren Area) picked up the third doubles win, 6-2.
Gabrielle Bassette (Miami, Fla./Miami Country Day School) at first,
Emiliia Grydnieva (Kyiv, Ukraine/Optima) at second,
Maria Lounder (Pittsburgh, Pa./Moon Area) at third,
Adriana Navarro (Distrito Central, Honduras/DelCampo School) at fourth and Bachman at fifth singles all earned 6-0, 6-0 sweeps.
Mackenzie Burd (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) closed out the evening with a 6-1, 6-0 win at sixth singles.
