ERIE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's soccer team continued the start of their 2025 campaign against Carnegie Mellon in a neutral site contest at Penn State Behrend Sunday (Aug. 31), tying the Tartans with a 1-1 score line.
After some back-and-forth play to start the game, the Tartans got on the board in the 22nd minute with a short-ranged shot in front of the net.
Lucas Henderson (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) and
Miguel Narbona (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) put shots on goal in the opening half, but the Gators trailed 1-0 at halftime.
The score remained the same until the 77th minute. Off a set piece from 40 yards out, the ball was redirected inside the box from
Aidan Dyga (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) to
Billy Sprott (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area), who buried it in the back of the net.
In the final 15 minutes of play,
Cadan Bennett (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) made a pair of saves to keep the score tied as the Gators earned their second draw of the season.
