MEADVILLE, Pa. -- On Wednesday, Allegheny College sophomore
Tommy Landsnes (Richmond, Va./Brunswick Academy) was included on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for the second time in his career.
Landsnes, the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Hitter of the Week, was recognized by D3baseball.com for his performance at the plate in sweeps of Franciscan University and Thiel College. He was also selected for the national award on March 27, 2024, after being named the PAC Newcomer of the Week.
In four games against Franciscan and Thiel, Landsnes hit .500 with eight hits, including two doubles and the first three home runs of his career. He homered in three consecutive games, beginning with a grand slam for his first-ever long ball in a 14-4 win in the opener against the Tomcats. He added a two-run homer in a 7-5 victory in the nightcap against Thiel and a three-run shot in Sunday's 17-7 win against Franciscan. Landsnes finished a triple shy of a cycle with a career-high five RBIs in Sunday's series finale with the Barons.
On the season, Landsnes is one of only two Gators with starts in all 23 games. He's batting .393 with three home runs and 27 RBIs while playing first base and the corner outfield positions.
Allegheny will continue its PAC schedule on Wednesday, April 9, with a doubleheader at Grove City College. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
