WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Allegheny women's lacrosse team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) road game at Washington and Jefferson Saturday (April 5) 21-8.
After the Presidents scored first,
Lauren Petrarca (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) answered with an unassisted goal to tie the game. Washington and Jefferson would go on to outgain the Gators 5-2 in the quarter with
Erin Lowthert (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) providing the other Allegheny goal of a feed by
Kendall Cox (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein).
Allegheny scored first in the second as Petrarca found the back of the net for the second time. The Presidents scored the next four goals as their lead grew to 9-3. Cox broke up the run with an unassisted goal with four minutes left in the half. The final two goals of the frame were scored by Washington and Jefferson as they led 11-4 at the half.
Reese Forella (York, Pa./Dallastown) scored the first goal of the second half on a free-position shot.
Caroline Smith (Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty) had a goal in the frame while Petrarca completed her hat trick, but the Presidents added four goals in the quarter to increase their lead to 15-7 heading into the fourth.
Petrarca scored her fourth goal of the game in the fourth, but the Presidents had a 6-1 advantage in the quarter as they secured the win.

- The Gators were 20-of-24 on clears.
