Men's Lacrosse Cruises to 19-4 Victory at Pitt-Bradford

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's lacrosse team picked up its third consecutive victory and wrapped up the non-conference portion of the 2025 schedule by dismantling the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, 19-4.

Saturday's contest marked the eighth of the season in which the Allegheny (7-8) defense held an opponent to single-digit goals and the third game in a row allowing four or less. The best defense is often a good offense, and the Gators' 19 goals were tied for the second-most scored in a game in 2025.

Allegheny's star attack duo of JP Rakis (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson) and Jack Cushwa (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) led the way on the offensive end of the turf. Both logged a team-high eight points. Cushwa cashed in for a team-leading five goals, while Rakis continued to hand out assists at a rapid pace with a game-best five.

Seniors Jason Spindel (Medina, Ohio/University Prep) and CT Graniel (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Preparatory) each had a hat trick, and classmate Tyler Rippole (Wexford, Pa./Pine-Richland) rounded out Allegheny's multi-goal scorers with two of his own.

The Gators wasted little time before lighting up the scoreboard. Allegheny's first goal came less than 20 seconds after the opening faceoff, and the lead quickly grew to 4-0 in the first two-and-a-half minutes. After the Panthers (4-7) scored their second goal at the 3:02 mark of the second quarter, the Gators held Pitt-Bradford scoreless for the next 24:42, blanking the hosts for the entire third quarter.

Inside the Box Score
