WASHINGTON, Pa. -- On Wednesday, the Allegheny College men's lacrosse team played another strong defensive game, allowing only three goals in a 12-3 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory at Washington and Jefferson College.
In the last two games combined, the Gators (6-8, 3-3 PAC) have surrendered a mere five goals while outscoring the opposition 36-5. Including last Saturday's 24-2 rout of Thiel College, Allegheny has now held four opponents to four or fewer goals in a game this spring.
The Gators scored the first four goals of Wednesday's matchup against the Presidents (5-9, 1-4 PAC) while holding W&J scoreless in the first quarter.
Jack Cushwa (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) completed his hat trick on a man-up goal by the 3:06 mark of the second quarter. Less than a minute later,
Andrew Myers (Mars, Pa. /North Allegheny) connected with
CT Graniel (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Preparatory) to put the Gators ahead 6-1 at halftime.
After giving up the first goal of the second half, Allegheny rattled off the next five.
Tomi Horsley (Salt Lake City, Utah/Brighton) potted back-to-back markers in a span of 56 seconds to finish his hat trick as part of the 5-0 Allegheny run.
