WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The 50th-ranked Allegheny men's tennis team stayed undefeated in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) as they swept Waynesburg 7-0 on the road Monday (April 14).
The Gators won in dominant fashion, dropping just two games overall in doubles before not giving up a game in singles. They increased their winning streak to nine games.
The win also marked the overall 200th career victory for head coach
Dave Hayden between stints at Allegheny and Westminster.
Anton Hedlund (Hovas, Sweden/Katrinelundsgymnasiet),
David Rodriguez (St. Ann's, Trinidad & Tobago/Fatima College),
Levente Mihaly (Békéscsaba, Hungary/Békéscsabai SZC Széchenyi István) and
Benedek Kaibas (Salgótarján, Hungary/Mikszáth Kálmán Gimnázium) all picked up wins in both singles and doubles action.
Reid Stasolla (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) and
Olivier Erkens (Gouda, Netherlands/Coornhert Gymnasium) collected a 6-0 win at second doubles.
Javier Bejarano Jimenez (El Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain/IES Padre Luis Coloma) won at fourth singles and
Will Jarvie (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) won at fifth singles to round out the singles victories.
