MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's tennis team fell to No. 7 Carnegie Mellon University, 7-0, on a brisk Saturday afternoon at the Robertson Athletic Complex.
The Gators (18-6), ranked 63rd in Division III in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll, faced their toughest opponent of the season in the Tartans (18-2). Not only is CMU ranked seventh nationally, but the Tartan lineup featured the fourth-best doubles team and two of the top 15 singles players from the Northeast Region.
