MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's lacrosse team cruised to a 17-4 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over Saint Vincent College on a chilly Tuesday night on the blue turf at the Robertson Athletic Complex.
The Gators (3-7, 2-1 PAC) surrendered a season-low four goals while forcing 17 turnovers, the second-most in a game this season. On the other end of the field, Allegheny faced little resistance from the Bearcats (3-7, 1-3 PAC) and posted its second-best goal total of the spring.
It only took 73 seconds for
Lauren Petrarca (Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) to score the first goal of the night. She completed her hat trick before the end of the first quarter, and Allegheny used a 5-0 run to end the opening period with a 7-1 advantage.
Although Saint Vincent netted the first goal of the second quarter, the Gators rattled off eight unanswered while holding the Bearcats off the scoreboard for more than 30 minutes until the fourth quarter. During the scoreless drought, Allegheny limited Saint Vincent to just two shot attempts while causing seven turnovers.
