PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- For the third time in his Allegheny College career,
Jack Malnar (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) was named All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) for his performance at the conference championships.
Malnar was included on the 2024-25 All-PAC Second Team, his second such award after being placed on the second team last winter. As a sophomore in 2022-23, he earned a spot on the conference's top squad as a member of the All-PAC First Team.
At the PAC Championships at Grove City College's Longnecker Pool, Malnar swam in the "A" finals in every event he swam. Individually, he competed in three freestyle sprints, placing eighth, sixth, and fourth, respectively, in the 50-, 100-, and 200-yard races. His 21.78 seconds in the 50-yard prelims was a personal best, while all of his times qualified as season-bests.Â
With Malnar swimming the final leg, Allegheny placed fourth in three relay races: 200- and 400-yard freestyle and the 200-yard medley. He also closed a fifth-place effort by the Gators' 400-yard freestyle quartet.
Although Malnar was the only Gator to receive All-PAC recognition, first-year swimmer
Sam Kohler (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth) earned additional honors. Kohler was selected as Allegheny's representative on the PAC Sportsmanship Team. The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior, and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams and student-athletes.
