Women's Tennis Stung By Yellowjackets, 7-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Allegheny College women's tennis team was swept in a non-conference contest against the University of Rochester on Saturday afternoon in the Flower City.

Competing for the first time since returning from Florida two weeks ago, the Gators (18-5) mixed up the lineup against the Yellowjackets (6-3).
Allegheny's No. 2 doubles team of Nicole Serna Cassan (Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico/Grandview Preparatory (Fla.)) and Maria Lounder (Pittsburgh, Pa./Moon Area) played together for only the second time this season. The No. 3 tandem of Mackenzie Burd (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) and Jillian Clark (Butler, Pa./Butler) teamed up for the first time in 2024-25. Clark and Burd had the closest match of the day as they pushed Rochester's Lilly Caldwell and Sahithi Mathukumilli to a 7-5 decision.

In the singles portion of the match, most of the Gators played up one spot from their traditional lineup. That allowed Clark to jump into the fifth position for her fifth singles match of the season, while Burd was slotted sixth in only her third singles appearance.
