TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Allegheny College's
Isabella Antonacci (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) got off to a hot start to the 2025-26 season at the Women Leaders Tip-Off Tournament, resulting in the first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week award of the year.
The second-year guard led all Gators in scoring during two incredibly close matchups with No. 6 nationally-ranked Washington and Lee University on Saturday and Rochester Institute of Technology on Sunday. For the weekend, Antonacci averaged 26.5 points, 3.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting 50.0% (18-36) overall and 78.6% (11-14) from the foul line.
In a 78-77 loss to sixth-ranked W&L, Antonacci went off for a career-high 36 points, tied for the third-most in a game in program history. She made 12 of her 24 field goal attempts with a game-high four 3-pointers. In the second quarter, she netted 12 consecutive points for Allegheny, a run that included a trio of her 3-point buckets. Antonacci also made two foul shots with 15.7 seconds to go that tied the game at 77-all in the near upset of the Generals.
The following day, in a 62-60 loss to RIT, Antonacci scored a team-high 17 points. She made two of her three attempts from beyond the arc, including a miraculous shot from the far corner with 5.4 seconds left on the clock. Antonacci also drew a foul on the trey, and her four-point play brought the Gators within a point, 61-60, in another near comeback against the Tigers.
Antonacci and the Gators will continue nonconference action at Chatham University's tournament this weekend, beginning with a matchup against Wittenberg University on Friday, November 14, at 5 p.m.
