PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Allegheny volleyball team traveled to Chatham on Saturday (Oct. 4) for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match, falling to the host Cougars in four sets.
The Cougars won the sets 25-22, 26-28, 25-21, 25-13.
After some back-and-forth to start the match, the Cougars went on a run to jump ahead, 12-7. Chatham was able to carry the lead the rest of the way as they won the opening set 25-22.
The Cougars had an early lead in the second set. The Gators answered with a 7-1 run, pulling within two points at 17-15. A few points later, the Gators went on a 6-0 run as they earned a set point at 24-20. Chatham then went on a 5-0 run as they earned their own set point. After trading points, kills by

Carlee Pepperman (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte Area) and
Carly Beers (Warren, Pa./Warren) gave the Gators a 28-26 win.
The teams exchanged points in the early portions of the third set as they were tied at 13. The Cougars started to pull away at that point, jumping ahead 22-17. The Gators stopped a pair of set points but ultimately fell in the set, 25-21.
In the fourth set, Chatham gained an early lead. The Gators were unable to overcome the early deficit as they dropped the set and match.

- Beers led the team with 13 kills.
- Skyler Fatola (Queen Creek, Ariz./Eastmark) also hit double digits with 10 digs with five blocks and four digs.
- Pepperman finished with 14 digs, eight kills and three aces.
- Amaya Brooks (North Olmsted, Ohio/Lutheran West) had eight kills while Sydney Kirk (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton LaSalle Catholic) had five.
- Miller had 18 assists and a season-high 20 digs.
- Izzy Gray (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) had 17 assists and eight digs.
- Jacy Diaz (Barranquitas, Puerto Rico/Gallatin (Tenn.)) led the backline with 27 digs.
- Duru Akbas (Ankara, Turkey/Layton Christian Academy (Utah)) had 10 digs.
