Men's Soccer Ties Saint Vincent in Regular-Season Finale

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's soccer team ended the 2025 regular season with a scoreless draw against Saint Vincent College on a rainy Wednesday night at Frank B. Fuhrer Field.

With the tie and an additional point in the standings, the Gators (8-7-5, 6-3-2 PAC) secured the third seed in the upcoming Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament. As a result, Allegheny will host No. 6 Washington and Jefferson College in the first round of the tournament on Saturday at 3 p.m.

In hopes of leapfrogging the Gators and overtaking third place, Saint Vincent (11-3-5, 5-2-4 PAC) managed to preserve the clean sheet despite some great looks from the Allegheny offense. Goalie Kameron Rock needed perhaps his best highlight-reel save of the year to keep Aidan Dyga (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) off the board in the 60th minute. The initial pass into the box was just long, but Jose Cifuentes (Guatemala City, Guatemala/The Kiski School) headed the ball back to Dyga on the doorstep of the goal line. Dyga flicked the ball towards the net, but Rock's quick reflexes allowed him to swat it away.

Freshman midfielder Nathan Tolliver (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) had a left-footed attempt from 25 yards out denied by Rock in the 80th minute. Inside the final two minutes, the Gators earned a free kick after a hard foul by the Bearcats. Alas, Will Gruca's (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) kick was grabbed out of the air by Rock. Gruca had one final chance in the closing moments following a long throw-in by Lucas Henderson (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny), but a Saint Vincent defender immediately blocked his shot.

Inside the Box Score
  • Allegheny finished with 16 shots and eight shots on goal.
  • Saint Vincent took 11 shots, including four shots on goal.
  • The Gators also had a 7-to-5 advantage in corner kicks.
