Gators Drops Overtime Game at Wittenberg

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Allegheny field hockey team fell in overtime on the road at North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) foe Wittenberg Saturday (Oct. 18), 1-0.

In the opening half of the game, the Gators outpaced the Tigers in shots by a 14-2 mark. Of those 14 shots, 13 were on target. Rowan O'Toole (Glen Burnie, Md./Archbishop Spalding) made a pair of saves to keep the Tigers off the board.

In the second half, the Tigers owned the advantage in shots, 11-4. O'Toole made three stops to keep the game scoreless. Offensively, the Gators had some chances late but neither team found the back of the net as the game went into overtime.

In the extra session, Wittenberg put pressure on the Gators early. O'Toole made another pair of stops before the Tigers ended the game with a goal two-and-a-half minutes into the frame.
