MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's soccer team attempted a late comeback against the defending Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) champions but ultimately fell to the Wolverines Saturday evening, 5-3.
The Wolverines (5-3-1, 2-0-0 PAC) scored the first four goals of Saturday's matchup on the blue turf at the Robertson Athletic Complex. The Gators (5-5-0, 1-1-0 PAC) were down but not out, and the hosts made things interesting with a series of late goals.
Unfortunately, the deficit was too large to overcome against a Grove City team that hasn't lost a PAC regular-season game since 2022. The Wolverines escaped with the win, although their clean sheet was stained by first-year midfielder
Madeline Schneider (Poolesville, Md./Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart), senior forward
Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy), and sophomore midfielder
Katherine Surdykowski (Chesterfield, N.J./Northern Burlington County Regional).
With her goal in the 87th minute and assist to Surdykowski in the 88th, a determined Miller extended her scoring streak to five consecutive games.
Inside the Box Score
- Grove City finished with a 27-to-16 lead in shots, but both teams took 13 shots in the second half.
- Allegheny held a slim advantage in corner kicks, 6-to-5.
- Miller led all Gators with seven shots and three points (1g-1a).
- Schneider and Surdykowski each scored one goal.
- Emily Beck (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) added one assist to round out Allegheny's offense.

- Grove City's Emma Herrmann paced all scorers with five points (2g-1a), scoring and assisting on the game's first three goals.
News and Notes
- Allegheny's win streak was halted after four consecutive victories.
- Allegheny has scored at least three goals in each of its last five games, going 4-1-0 in that span.
- Three goals are the second-most allowed by Grove City in a game in 2024.
- With 31 points (14g-3a), Miller became the first Gator to surpass 30 points in a single season since Hall of Famer Jane Och Sharpless '03 had 35 in the fall of 2000.
- Miller moved into 10th place all-time in program history with 62 career points, surpassing Jeanne Kondrich '98 (60).
