Women's Tennis Tames Thiel, 7-0

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Allegheny College women's tennis won its fifth consecutive match and improved to 2-0 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action following a 7-0 victory over Thiel College on Wednesday afternoon.

Allegheny (5-1, 2-0 PAC) made quick work of the Tomcats (1-4, 0-3 PAC). Between doubles and singles combined, the Gators dropped only five games and earned five shutout wins.

The No. 1 doubles team of Julia Müsseler (Munich, Germany/Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium) and Evie Ellenberger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) and the No. 3 tandem of Omega Ba (Orlando, Fla./Edgewater) and Adriana Navarro (Distrito Central, Honduras/DelCampo School) swept both their opponents, 6-0.

Müsseler did the same to Emily Peters in their second singles match, as the first-year standout from Germany took down Peters, 6-0, 6-0. Fellow first year Alejandra Villanueva (Bogotá, Colombia/French Touch Academy) and junior Maria Lounder (Pittsburgh, Pa./Moon Area) matched her performance by blanking the Tomcats in consecutive sets at the bottom of the lineup.
